How to Write a Headline That Captures Attention of Your Audience

You have just few seconds to capture attention of a reader. Therefore, keep in mind to have a caption that acts like a snare.

Keywords in Your Headline: No one will take a notice of your headline unless you know the art of working with the search engines. The first step to take is to include the keywords in your headline. Your headline should comprise of phrases or keywords that describe the article the best. You may save all the attractive words or catchy phrases to be used in the sub-headline.

Headline with a Message: Your title also needs to draw the attention of the reader. Therefore, the article that follows the title should be what message it imparts in the title. In case, the body does not have what the title has then you are sure to lose your reader. Repeat the message of the title in the first few sentences of the article, this provides the reader assurance that the reader is reading the right article. This way you will also provide the search engines with the repeat keywords or phrases.

The Headline Should be Accurate: Spelling error, implications are never accepted to a reader. When an error occurs, a reader assumes such repetition in the content too. They will rethink whether it is worth putting in time to an article where mere headlines with five to six words are also not free of errors.

• It should be correct
• It should connect even to ordinary readers
• It should be attractive
• It must be in tune with the article
• Do not use cute or creative headlines
• It should incorporate keywords or phrases
• Your headline should not be written in hurry
• Take input from others
• Never capitalize the headline, instead capitalize only the first alphabet.
• Your headline should not carry dual meaning
• Avoid words that are read as both noun and verb
• Whenever possible avoid jargon in the headline
• Headline should not be misleading
